  9. Launch the app by clicking its name — OmniSpeech AI Detect™ — to start using it in your meetings.

Using the App - Prerequisites

Prerequisites: Before using OmniSpeech AI Detect™, ensure:

  • You are using the Zoom Desktop Client on Windows or macOS.

  • Your Zoom client version is 6.5.10 or newer.

  • You are in an active Zoom meeting (the app does not function outside a meeting).

  • You have authorized the app after installation.

Authorize the App

  1. Open the Zoom client and go to Apps → My Apps → OmniSpeech AI Detect™.

  2. Click Authorize App.

  3. Review and approve permissions.

  4. Once authorized, you’ll see one of the following messages:

    • “Meeting in Progress – AI Detect™ will start scanning audio when you press the ‘Start Scan’ button.”

    • If not in a meeting: “Join a Zoom meeting to use the AI Detect™ app.”

Starting a Scan

  1. Join a live Zoom meeting.

  2. Open the OmniSpeech AI Detect™ panel from My Apps.

  3. Click the Start Scan button to begin analyzing participant audio.

    • The button transitions from Initializing Scan… → Scanning Audio…

    • Each scan runs for 10 seconds.

  4. Zoom will show a banner:

    • “Your app is accessing meeting content.” while scanning.

    • “Your app is no longer accessing meeting content.” when it ends.

  5. Once complete, detection results appear in the Participants section of the app.

Scan Results

Each participant analyzed is displayed with a color-coded result card:

🔴 Red - Likely AI deepfake — use caution

🟡 Yellow - Maybe AI deepfake — use caution

🟢 Green - Likely human voice

The most recently analyzed participant always appears at the top.

Understanding Scan Limits

Each plan offers a fixed number of scans per meeting:

Each scan you perform reduces your remaining count by 1.

When the limit is reached, you’ll see a message: “You’ve reached the maximum scans allowed for this session.”

If you’re on the Free Plan, an Upgrade button will appear to guide you to the Zoom Marketplace for plan upgrades.

Using the App Effectively

For best detection accuracy:

  • Run scans when only one participant is speaking.

  • Ensure at least 4 seconds of clear speech from that participant.

  • Participants who are unmuted but silent are not analyzed.

  • If multiple people speak simultaneously, all who spoke for at least 4 seconds will be analyzed — but accuracy may vary.

Host & Participant Permissions

  • Only one participant in a meeting can run a scan at a time.

  • If another participant is scanning, others will see:
“Audio is currently being scanned by another participant. You can start your scan when the ‘Start Scan’ button turns green.”

  • If you are not the host, you must request permission from the host to share meeting content.

    • When you click Start Scan, a permission request is sent to the host.

    • Once the host approves, your scan will begin automatically.
